The Sentinel Mission is guiding a novel underwater robot trying to make the first-ever circumnavigation of Earth’s Ocean. This effort represents a partnership between Teledyne Webb Research, Rutgers University undergraduate students, and international partners. The glider is named Redwing and was deployed September 10, 2025 from Cape Cod and is currently traveling on the first leg to the Canary Islands. The mission is being anchored by undergraduate students in all phases of the endeavor.

We are seeking support to maximize the undergraduate experiences. The Redwing glider will transit the ocean with numerous international stops along the way. Our hope is to have students play key roles in these cultural stops and we are seeking funds to assist with their travel costs to these cultural events. These events will bring together students from across the world and allow them to collaborate with one another. Your generous support will provide a unique learning and leadership opportunity for our students.
