Rutgers Business School Global Experience Fund

Would you help well-deserving Rutgers Business School (RBS) students realize their interest to go on their first global experiential learning trip? RBS is committed to providing the best possible education and learning opportunities for our students. We believe every student deserves access to the resources and support needed to succeed in a constantly changing global economy, regardless of their background or financial situation. We invite you to join us in this initiative to benefit RBS students from low-income and under-represented backgrounds.

🌟 Rutgers Business School is delighted to share with you an exciting experiential learning opportunity for our students with a study trip to Singapore and Vietnam (January 4-11, 2026)! This 3-credit elective Global Experience Course is open to all RBS MBA students and Juniors/Seniors. The study trip and four associated pre-trip seminars will be led by Dr. Markus Taussig and Dr. Jonathan Ng from the Department of Management and Global Business. In addition to their teaching and research focus on business and strategy in emerging markets, the two have well over half a century of combined experience living and working in both countries! Given the dynamic roles that these two dynamic developing countries play in the global economy and their contrasting political histories, stages of economic development, and cultures, we expect that this will be a life-changing experience for our participating students.

💰 The program cost for this overseas trip, excluding return airfares and incidental expenses, is $2,300 per student. To reduce financial obstacles to participation, we are launching a fundraising campaign to raise $8,800 by 15 September 2025. We plan to use this fund to partially cover the program fee for well-deserving students from financially challenged backgrounds.

✨ We are reaching out to businesses and RBS faculty/alumni like you to ask for help in achieving our fundraising goals. You/Your company has been an important partner with Rutgers in the past, and your continued generosity can make a significant impact on the lives of our students, helping us to prepare them for a bright future. Your tax-deductible contribution, no matter the size, will be greatly appreciated and put to good use.

🎓🌟 Thank you for your generous support and for making this study trip possible for our well-deserving, ambitious, and adventurous young people! You can also help us by sharing information about this RBS initiative with others who may also wish to support RBS students in this experiential learning initiative.

🎓 As noted by David Brooks, New York Times (3rd April 2025), “People who truly lead are cosmopolitan... They put themselves in unfamiliar situations. They have diversive curiosity. They have social range, a wide variety of friends. They are able to combine disparate worldviews.” The Foreign Legions, New York Times (4th November, 2007), also reiterated that “globally fluent graduates are essential to American competitiveness. International exposure… has become a must-have credential.”
