The Office of Global Initiatives and Experiential Learning (OGIEL) at Rutgers University-Newark has deployed 47 We Share Solar Suitcases in 7 countries in the Global South. These projects have provided access to sustainable energy and improved educational outcomes in schools and the quality of healthcare in local clinics.
In addition to sustainable development, OGIEL is fundraising for internships to allow students to contribute tangible, long-term change in communities in the U.S. and the Global South.
To support the deployment, training, maintenance, and expansion of the solar suitcases in partner communities and student internships, hikers led by Professor Clayton Walton, Executive Director of OGIEL, will embark on a climbing expedition to Mt. Cayambe. Individuals and organizations alike are invited to partake in this journey. Your sponsorship will enable OGIEL to continue bringing light, empowering individuals with the tools for self-sufficiency, and paving the way for a greener, more equitable future.
