About the Miller Center
The Miller Center on Policing and Community Resilience engages in education and public service focused on protecting vulnerable populations to enhance their safety and standing in society by improving their relationships with law enforcement, with other government agencies, and with other vulnerable communities. The Eagleton affiliated Center at Rutgers University identifies and disseminates best practices, offers training workshops, consults on security and civil liberties, and undertakes research.
The Center’s policing initiatives translate research and evidence-based best practices into real-world public safety impact. Through innovative programs focused on police operations, violence reduction, problem-solving, community policing, education, training, and criminal justice policy development, the Center equips public safety professionals and community leaders with practical strategies to address today’s most complex challenges. These efforts help agencies strengthen trust, enhance operational effectiveness, and better protect and serve the communities they are sworn to support.
