Helyar Woods and Natural Areas Support Fund at Rutgers Gardens

Gifts support the conservation and management of natural areas at Rutgers Gardens, including Helyar Woods, a 60-acre woodland named in honor of Rutgers professor and longtime proponent of woodlands and hiking, Frank G. Helyar. Composed primarily of mature beech, birch, maple, and oak trees, Helyar Woods serves as a key experiential learning site for university students while providing outdoor recreation opportunities for the community.
