Department of Economics Development Fund

High-performing Economics students join Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE), the International Honor Society for Economics. The Theta chapter at Rutgers - New Brunswick, chartered in 1969, expands its members' knowledge of economics and provides access to awards and prizes as well as opportunities to present research at conferences. Membership dues are $50 per student. The Department of Economics is establishing a fund to subsidize the cost of membership for students with financial hardship.

Official membership in the Omicron Delta Epsilon International Honor Society provides international recognition of outstanding academic achievement as well as access to awards, prizes, and programs to support independent research. ODE has roots back to 1915; the Rutgers Theta Chapter was established in 1969. High-performing students of Economics at Rutgers can join ODE for a one-time membership fee of $50.

The department would like to be able to offer membership to outstanding undergraduates regardless of their ability to pay. A donation of $50 would sponsor one undergraduate to a lifetime membership in ODE.  A $100 donation would cover the full costs for two students or subsidize four students. Donations of any amount will be collected toward the Department's goal of making ODE membership available to all qualified Rutgers undergraduates without regard to financial circumstances. We appreciate any assistance toward this goal.
