The Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University—New Brunswick explores state and national politics through research, education, and public service, linking the study of politics with its day-to-day practice. Central to that mission is providing students with real-world learning experiences and internships. With your support, students will launch their professional careers and expand their networks, enriching their understanding of democracy and building critical democratic skills. Please give generously today!

The Rutgers-Eagleton Washington Internship Award provides tremendous learning opportunities for students who are interested in government, politics, policy, and advocacy. They establish professional contacts, meet mentors, and develop a deeper understanding of government, public service, and the importance of civic engagement.

Quotes from award recipients:

"Without the award, there’s no way I would have been able to go to Washington, D.C. at any point for any length of time."

- Matthew Brodsky, 2023 Award recipient and Rutgers University—Camden student.

"I wouldn't have been able to take a position in D.C., especially one that was unpaid that catered to my interests so well without the support of this D.C. award. Being able to spend the summer in the city exploring a new place and potentially a place I would like to live and work was a great experience."

- Rees Hagler, 2023 Award recipient.
