Dr. Quinn—or Betty as many knew her—graduated in the Class of 1978 from what was at the time the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Apart from those who knew Betty as a classmate, many alumni encountered her later in training or clinical practice at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield where she worked until she passed away tragically in 1989. Betty, a person of infinite kindness and a highly competent practitioner of internal medicine and infectious disease, was also a wife, sister and dear friend to many.
To endow this scholarship in perpetuity, we must come together to raise $25,000. Dr. Albert Strunk (RWJMS ’80) leads this charge with a pledge of $5,000 in Betty’s memory to start the campaign. Gifts of any amount to ensure Betty’s legacy at the medical school and support future physicians for years to come are appreciated.
If you are interested in pledging an amount of $5,000 or greater, please contact Alexa Comuniello, Associate Director of Development for RWJMS, at alexa.comuniello@rutgersfoundation.org or 848-932-7758.
(In the event that less than $25,000 is raised, donations in Betty’s memory will be allocated to the RWJMS general scholarship fund.)
