Dance Department Scholarship Fund

Don Redlich, Full Professor of Dance until 1994, enriched the Dance Department with modern dance pioneer Hanya Holm’s experimental approaches. In Redlich's 96th year, he graciously endowed the department and provides $25,000 in scholarships for dance majors annually. To match Don's largesse and celebrate his legacy, we've established a new Dance Department Scholarship Fund. Please consider contributing to continue Redlich’s lasting impact on even more students at Mason Gross Dance!

Don Redlich, renowned dance artist and educator, was appointed Associate Professor of Dance at Rutgers Mason Gross in 1984. Having trained with German modern dance pioneer Hanya Holm, Redlich brought Holm's style of live percussion accompaniment and improvisation to the department. He went on to become a Full Professor before retiring in 1994 as Emeritus Professor. In 2017, Redlich’s life-history interview was archived in Rutgers Special Collections by current Professor of Dance Jeff Friedman and, in his 96th year, Redlich generously endowed the Dance Department. Please consider contributing to our new Dance Department Scholarship Fund to match Don's generous contribution and continue his lasting impact on even more students at Mason Gross Dance!
