Details
The Rutgers University–Newark Archives at the Dana Library houses the extensive work of Dr. Clement Alexander Price, donated by Mary Sue Sweeney Price. This priceless collection is critical to future scholars of Newark and New Jersey history, historiography, and race relations from Reconstruction to the present day. The current organization of the collection is limited to broad box-level descriptions. Funding is needed to complete the archiving process, including the creation of detailed folder listings and item-level descriptions. This a level of detail will additional description that will greatly improve access for researchers, significantly enhancing the collection’s value to scholars and students. The project will also require hiring a dedicated archivist and developing the necessary infrastructure to consolidate the entire archive in one location.
